Photo Organising

We have been talking about getting your photos organised so that you can enjoy them and we have also been talking about one of our favourite ways to enjoy photos – in photo books.  For those new subscribers who have joined us for our first birthday competition you may have missed those posts... you can read about them by clicking the links below; Digital Photo Organising FileOsophy Who is the best photo book supplier? I made my first photo book over 6 years ago just after I got married.  Our fantastic photographer Grant from Perfect Images Photography had kindly provided me with a CD of fabulous shots and as such I was able to create a beautiful keepsake of our magical day.

We helped you get your photos #organised with our series of posts on digital photo organising and we reminded you what a great gift idea photo books are for Mothers Day so now it is time to give you our input on the great photo book supplier debate. Here is another one of Jo's cool infographics that explains how we chose to assess photo book suppliers.

Recently we walked through our favourite organsing technique and taught you how to do the MOON walk.  Right now you might be feeling overwhelmed by a mountain of memories.  If you are not sure where to start the process of making sure your precious memories are safe, here are our top 5 tips to dealing with an overwhelming situation.

There was a 5th step to our photo filing FileOsophy which we hadn’t included as part of the MOON walk as it pertains to both images and data.  It also didn't fit nicely with our little acronym but ultimately we believed that it needed a bit more weight and importance surrounding it.  WHY?  Well because data loss does not discriminate.  Good karma will only get you so far and good guys can experience data loss as readily as the next guy. Digital Photo Filing FileOsophy Step 5: BACK UP,  backing up, protecting your precious memories, saving for the future call it what you will…. We like to think of it as Back Up or Die. Sounds pretty ominous doesn’t it… back up or die?  Well if you remember the emotions we stirred up when you watched our video then you need to read this post.

Welcome back, are you ready to get your dancing shoes on and learn more about our Digital Photo Filing technique we nicknamed The Moonwalk to get your digital photos organised? If you missed the introduction and the first step of how to MOON walk you can read that post here. Once you have completed the first step - MUSTER - you can dust yourself off and settle in for a session of ORGANISING.

I’d like you to meet THE HARDIES - I tried to get my family tree in one image but I needed a magnified glass to see it.

My mum is one of 11 kids, she has 5 brothers and 5 sisters. My grandmother passed on very early and when my pop passed on in 1975 he had eleven surviving children.  Today he has 139 living descendants…can you imagine our family reunion?! No imagination required …you can check back in with me next year as I am actually organising (there is that word again) a big reunion in April 2014; wish me luck.
