You know the ones………..

Personally I LOVE them, they are so REAL!

There are two reasons we encourage you to buy the cringing, crying, wriggling, unhappy photo of the kids with Santa.

1.  STORYTELLING:  These photos are telling a true and accurate story of what was going on at the time.  Reality is that MANY and I might go out on a limb here and suggest that the MAJORITY of kids simply don’t want to pose for a Santa photo.  Being asked to talk to a stranger and then sit on the lap of that chubby (fake or real) and potentially smelly red suited (remember how hot it is during Southern Hemisphere Christmases) stranger… fair enough too.  Of course the happy smiling joyful wide eyed innocent snaps tell a story too, but how much more shall we say ‘interesting’ or at least fun to tell is the crying kid one.
2. RESILIENCE:  For those of you that have been with us a while, you might recall the Three R’s. As we pointed out there are some valuable lessons that can be learned from looking back at photos.  In this case it can help your child learn the important life skill of resilience!  Whip this kind of beauty out and you can remind them that they did something that made them uncomfortable/unpleasant and they didn’t die!  How is that for a helpful parenting tip?!

I would suggest a third reason is to get a good laugh but I might be considered sadistic.

So this Christmas don’t stress if you can’t manufacture the ‘perfect’ Christmas photo, relax knowing that there are benefits to buying the ‘crying’ ones.  Besides if you’ve lined up and invested all your time in getting the photos you might as well buy them like you intended and get some joy out of them after all.
