We have been talking about getting your photos organised so that you can enjoy them and we have also been talking about one of our favourite ways to enjoy photos – in photo books.  For those new subscribers who have joined us for our first birthday competition you may have missed those posts... you can read about them by clicking the links below; Digital Photo Organising FileOsophy Who is the best photo book supplier? I made my first photo book over 6 years ago just after I got married.  Our fantastic photographer Grant from Perfect Images Photography had kindly provided me with a CD of fabulous shots and as such I was able to create a beautiful keepsake of our magical day.

In just five days The Filing Fairies turn 1, ‘ONE’ wow what a milestone for us or for any new business. Hands up who else loves stylish stationery? I know it is the organising possibilities that make Jo and I love stationery items, but I often wonder what it is that makes stores that stock these products so widely and universally popular with almost everyone I speak to? Anyway I digress….I won't go into a reflective post about the roller coaster ride of our first year in business (I will save that for next week)...today’s blog is to announce our first birthday giveaway! You are wondering what it is all about right?  Well what better way to announce the details of our giveaway than with one of my favourite (and I think most effective) descriptive methods I learned as an event manager - the who, what, why, where, when, how.

As you may recall February is one of two clusters of birthdays that our family has each year.  In the February cluster we have Jacob (who will tell anyone that will listen) is first, followed by Gabi then myself.  So we have LOTS going on in the lead up to these special days not to mention all the other things going on in our busy lives. Historically, I always used a diary – a small handbag sized diary with a week to view – and I am sure at some stage I had one of those old school birthday books full of messy entries. Back in the late 90’s whilst working a full time desk job I started to rely heavily on my office outlook calendar but found weekends and personal items being forgotten so I was using both the old diary AND outlook – hello double up and confusion. BI (Before iPhone) I had a mobile with a calendar with reminder functions so I started using that, but still I relied on the old paper one because I never managed to get everything updated into the phone. Then smart phones changed everything…
