ANZAC Day is a day steeped in tradition.

It is tradition for our family to attend the local dawn service and this year we will watch on proudly as our son represents Scouts Australia as a Joey.  We will then attend the ANZAC Day NRL game between traditional rivals reminding us of the mock football games embattled soldiers had during ceasefires on the frontlines of Gallipoli.

We recently organised digital images from two different clients – both who made a pilgrimage to Gallipoli and France as a sign of Remembrance.

Social media is awash with images of fathers and great grandfathers who fought in the war and we applaud people for going to the effort to protect these important images and memories.

Today we are reminded of the importance of preserving and protecting precious family stories.

    A great Anzac day!!! I went to school with you husband and his twin sister. From primary to high school. I haven’t seen Julie since school, but caught up with Paul at the reunion. Social media is fantastic in the way it keeps people connected. I was not involved in scouts growing up, I did brownies for a short time. I married someone who grew up with scouts and his family were all involved also. My son stated joeys when he was 6, and my husband, who was already busy with work and other community commitments couldn’t say no when he was asked to help run joeys. Our son is 9 in August so he is now in cubs. Our daughter is 6 in July and ready to start Joeys. My husband and son were both in th Anzac day March in Wollongong yesterday with scouts. I also watched on proudly with my daughter. Tears in my eyes, happiness for my boys, and so overwhelming to see the diggers wave and smile as they went past. Thank you for reminding me about protecting precious photos. I think my parent’s prob have all my Grandparents old photos at home. They both passed away about 4 years ago. Once I find them I will contact you on how we can put some into special photo book’s.
