This month we are asking you to make like a Boy (or Girl) Scout and BE PREPARED!

Ask anyone fleeing their home in emergency conditions what the top 3 things they are attempting to save are and you will find the response is:

1. People
2. Pets
3. Photos

Bush fires are a natural part of the Australian environment and occur regularly, but many people fail to prepare for them.  The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) encourages you to prepare, act and survive bush fires and we want to help you with that preparation.

We want you to be able to put your hands on everything you need in an emergency situation within minutes and be safely out of harm’s way.

If your photos are organised you are easily able to back them up and in many cases you may not be anywhere near your home in an emergency, allowing you to concentrate on the evacuation and survival of much loved family and pets.
